Found a foreclosure that will be going up for auction later this year. An attorney is listed on the form… can I contact him and try to purchase the property directly from him and completely bypass the auction process? I may not be able to low-ball the price but is this wise? I want the house really bad, as it is only a few houses down from a property I already own.

The attorney is the attorney for the lender and the lender won’t own the house, and therefore can’t sell it to you, until after the auction. At this point the owner is the only person that can sell it to you.
