I have never had an attorney call me no matter what unless papers or depositions need to be dealt with. However, I call them and usually get an answer within 24 hours from either the attorney themselves or the secretary. I set it up in advance and warn them if I don't they will be fired. Perhaps you should try that, especially if they have not shown you any proof they have worked on it. You can fire attorney's just like everyone else. Good luck!!

I would say 2 weeks is way plenty. The attorney may be getting accident reports and medical records, etc... before contacting you. That takes a bit and the attorney can't do anything about how long it takes the police and doctors to get it back to them. The attorney also really can't do anything until he has that. So, I know it seems like forever, but be patient and give them a couple of weeks or so. Sometimes, a lawsuit can take years because of the paperwork and technicalities, so hopefully you can get the ball rolling and it won't take that long. But, I would allow at very least 6 months for this to be resolved and that is if all goes easily. Good luck!

An atrtorney should contact you regularly to keep you advised of how your case is proceeding. He should also call you to inform you of any new developments. If there is nothing new going on in the case it could be weeks between contacts with your attorney.
However, there is no excuse for an attorney not returning your phone calls in a timely manner (1-2 days tops). If you feel ignored call your attorney. Chances are there was nothing to report so you never got a call. If you call and they don't call back, you should consider a new attorney.
