What Can I Do When The Prosecuting Attorney Wont Help Me?

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

I was sexually abused as a child by my step-father. I “repressed” these memories. He is now in prison for abusing 2 other girls, but he will be out in 4 years. He owns the house across the street from me, and I don’t want him around me ever again. However, the prosecuting attorney will not file any charges on him for me. He wont give any explanations either. I am 32 years old, so I know it may be an old case, but the statute of limitations is still good on this! I just don’t know where to go from here. Our prosecutor is NOT doing his job at all! If he would at least talk to me and give me an explanation, but he just says his office isn’t going to do anything about this!
Can anyone tell me who to contact?

Is It Common For Attorney To Hold Up Money Longer When Case Is Done?

Sunday, December 27th, 2009

I prepaid my attorney for my case, but I reached an agreement with people involved myself. So case is cancelled. When I asked the attorney to charge for his services and refund me the rest of the money, he said it takes a few weeks when he does the book keeping. That’s is just a small law firm (just him and a secretary). It shouldn’t be complicated like that.
