Why Is The Nys Attorney General Creating A Watch Dog Website For The Legislature?

See it at www.sunlightny.org.
Is this beyond the purview of an Attorney General?
Is he trying to say there is criminal action going on, or is he trying to place himself above the legislature?

“Of course, Project Sunlight would not be available without the support of Governor Eliot Spitzer, Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno and Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver. Their agreement – and the support of the entire legislature – ensured that start-up funding for Project Sunlight was included in this year’s state budget. ”
Sure does not sound like an isolated project run by the NYS Attorney General.

He has consistently been one of the few people standing up to corruption in government and investigating bureaucratic abuse. I say more power to him. I’m glad someone is doing it.
The corporate media see no money if it and Federal regulatory Agencies have been hamstrung by this administration so he’s legitimately IMHO picked up the slack

Another name for an Attorney General is “Top Cop.”
It’s sort of like saying that if a cop is following a weaving car and it happens to be driven by the Mayor, he is putting himself above the Mayor.
Anyway adding to the ‘top cop’ concept, using a watch dog website is like having surveillance cameras on a bank. But since you are talking about politicians it is more like having surveillance cameras on a federal reformatory for the criminally insane.
Most likely someone is trying to hurt the AG and he is showing his muscle.
