I love the law and am curious about so many things that go on in a courtroom. Is the judge permitted to correct, oppose, disagree, etc. with an attorney who is making his closing argument? For instance, if the attorney lies about something that went on during the trial. Is the judge permited to stop the argument?

Could An Attorney Be Sanctioned By A Judge For Appearing In Court With A Visible Erection?
Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009Not an EXPOSED erection, but one which was clearly visible in an outline through the attorney’s pants.
Assume it was beyond the attorney’s control. The attorney had to stand up in court at the behest of the judge, but then everyone in the court saw his erection, and laughed.
Could the judge sanction the attorney for something like this, even though it is involuntary on the attorney’s part?
