Found a foreclosure that will be going up for auction later this year. An attorney is listed on the form… can I contact him and try to purchase the property directly from him and completely bypass the auction process? I may not be able to low-ball the price but is this wise? I want the house really bad, as it is only a few houses down from a property I already own.

Bar and they allow him to refuse. He is threatening to sue me civilly which is fine. But I am wondering if he can put a lien on my property without my knowledge or without some type of court hearing.

Is there a ballpark estimate of how much attorney fees will be once the 135 days is up and it goes to sale, and is there any formula for calculating the rate of their charges?
