I was sexually abused as a child by my step-father. I “repressed” these memories. He is now in prison for abusing 2 other girls, but he will be out in 4 years. He owns the house across the street from me, and I don’t want him around me ever again. However, the prosecuting attorney will not file any charges on him for me. He wont give any explanations either. I am 32 years old, so I know it may be an old case, but the statute of limitations is still good on this! I just don’t know where to go from here. Our prosecutor is NOT doing his job at all! If he would at least talk to me and give me an explanation, but he just says his office isn’t going to do anything about this!

Does each county have their own district attorney that prosecutes several cases? Or are the different areas of crimes disignated to different prosectors? Are their prosecutors that specifically procsecute rape and sexual assualt? I was recently sexually assualted so now my life dream is to help victims and fight injustices! I was already planning on going to law school but I changed my dream from criminal defense to prosecutor. Do you have to be elected to be a prosecutor? Even with no proof whatsoever, the case just keeps getting rescheduled over and over again. This means the person has to pay for an attorney, time off work, and gas to go there to defend themselves. In this county, you are guilty unless proven beyond a doubt that you are innocent. Where is the justice?
