I was injured on the job in 2001 and finally are getting around to setteling my case. It seems that the attorney is planning on taking a hugh chunk of my award. I’ve gone through seven years of misery and three surgeries. I may file an appeal.

I need to use some witnesses in my state, but can’t afford to have them go that many miles to testify on my behalf. My attorney in the state where the case is to be heard recommends he come down and take a deposition from the 2 professionals. What Is The Best Course Of Action To Take When You Receive A Letter From An Attorney For An Old Debt?
Sunday, November 1st, 2009I live in FL and the last payment on the original account was Dec of 03. I was contacted by a debt collector whom I spoke to briefly and told her this was something I do want to take care of but at this time I cannot. She continued to call until finally she told me she would have to forward my acct. Next thing I know I get a letter from an attorney telling me that I have the 30 days to validate the account or they would be taking legal action. The letter also states that interest will continue to accrue until the debt is paid. The original credit card had a $1,000 limit. Now the debt is $2,100. (Is this legal.) What is my best course of action?
